装丁の作品展「空想装丁図書館」展に参加した作品です。
『風姿花伝』は、世阿弥が著した能楽論です。
『花伝書』と呼ばれている本書は「花」をキーワードに日本人にとっての美を深く探求しています。
また花に例えた人生論でもあり、「秘すれば花」や
「老いてなお咲く花こそ最上の花」の言葉は私の人生に大きな影響を与えてくれた本のひとつです。
この本の装丁として、私は花をモチーフに選びました。
レーザーカットで仕立てた花のカバーをそっとめくってみると、カラフルな色彩の中に微笑む能面が隠されています。

[The flowering spirit ] By Zeami
This book binding work was created for "The Imaginary Binding Library" exhibition. I designed the binding of "The flowering Spirit". It is a book written about Noh, the Japanese traditional performance by Zeami who achieved perfection of Noh. Also it is called as "Kadensho", and it is also a book which tells life through the life of a flower. I chose flowers as a design motif of the binding. The book Jacket was made with the laser cutting. When you turn the book jacket, the cover has a Noh-mask in the colorful patterns. This work has the double images of Flowers and Noh-mask.
